I have a couple of things to do tomorrow, witch made me think, why not use my website to have a to-do list app. So short intro for today lets just gets straight to brass tacks. As you can see these couple of days I’ve been starting with a pattern of doing UI first [to which I’m thinking now, is a very bad idea because it discourages me to continue] I started with the layout and slowly moved from there
oh yeah and I forgot to mention, I kept track on making it responsive [I guess some improvement in my mobile approach thinking].
Then I started working on styling the form elements… This was torture because of the browser default styling and damn those checkboxes don’t want to be styled witch really got me frustrated [and it affected my performance here on out. So please excuse my negative attitude in this post]. I got the text input to be styled the way I wanted it to be [learning curve athoug] and it looked nice
Now, I kept thinking of those damn checkboxes that don’t want to be styled. So when I was working on adding the items to the list it made me get stuck in silly situations. But I got to make it work [check]. Then I started on working on changing the look when the task is complete [check]. I also wanted to add a bit of user interaction this time so I added a bit of animation when the element is focused on check]. And it looks nice!
You can check it out on my site here. To be quite honest with you, I’m not really happy about this day. I came in thinking I’ll do this app that has local storage, and customized everything! But reality hit me in that there is still a lot I don’t know… And it made me realize how much I’m far behind. I guess it’s one of those days. I hope you are having a better day.
