Global Game Jam 2017

,

It sure has been a while since I last posted an original post so I’m a bit rusty <don’t judge me/> Let’s start simple, Hello. And to the newcomers welcome! Honestly, I’m blown by the amount of growth this blog went through. I’m grateful to all of you who are joining me on this journey of code. I’m still working on the 180 project I started, I just needed a break and now I’m ready. I’ve set a date [which is January 31st btw] to which I’ll begin working on the project again. <please please hold me accountable for that/> Now that’s out of the way lets get to the gist which is the title of the post

For a while now, I’ve been meaning to join any competition around code, but fear stopped me from actually pursuing it. I kept telling my self “I need to practice more” “I’m not ready yet” “I just need to master this” “I need to learn that” and if you get down to it, Yes, they’re all a bunch of excuses to not do anything. <do any of you do the same?/> This year, however, I’m having none of that. So I bought a ticket, told my friend we’re joining [seriously having another person with you will stop you from backing out], and took the bus to Washington. At the beginning, it didn’t really sink in that it’s actually happening. It only kicks in once they announced the theme. I made a mini video documenting the experience. You can see the high, the lows, the struggle to stay awake. It was brilliant [well for the both of us at least] If you can spare 15 minutes of your day or maybe you’re bored. have a look at our stupid faces]

All in all, it was a wonderful experience to witch it got me thinking why did I run away from these experiences, to begin with? Anyways, I’m defiantly joining next year! If you’re interested, here’s the game we developed [remember we just did this in 2 days so please be nice]

So yeah, web projects starting on 31st of Jan, Game jam was awesome, and well happy coding to all of you.
